意識では追いつかない自動化された高度な能力。ハイデガーもそういうことを言っている。ハンマーを振るっていてうまくいっているときは無意識で、打ちそこなうと初めてそこで意識が立ち上がるといったことだ。
だから職人は無口なのだと思った。これだけ複雑な計算をしているとしゃべっている暇はない。この複雑な計算を意識的にやろうとするとすごく大変なことだが、熟練すると無意識のうちにほとんど自動的に脳がやってくれる状態になる。それは無我の境地で、変に意識するとかえって作業の邪魔になる。
